why this is such an amazing opportunity

We are the only photography studio granted permission to host an event of this kind at this historic site. By participating in our special fundraiser, your family will have exclusive access to this unique landscape, designed by none other than Frederick Law Olmsted. Olmsted is best known for his landscape design of New York’s Central Park and Boston’s Emerald Necklace as well as the Arnold Arboretum.

perfect for holiday gifts & cards

With the holidays coming soon, this is a great time to get a jump on your gift ideas. Why not get it done before the holiday rush?

plus, it’s peak foliage!

What better time to get outdoors for a spectacular portrait of your loved ones than during peak foliage in the month of October in New England?

not sure what to wear?
yeah, we’ve got that covered

What to wear for your fall portraits

Simple and timeless clothing choices are best, such as solids and classic patterns. It is recommended to avoid busy patterns, logos and large designs on your clothing. The best color choices are the earth tones and deep autumn hues such as brown, grey, plum, maroon, navy and forest green. Textured knit sweaters and leather jackets are great, too.

Jeans or khakis are perfect for the waist down. We also recommend wearing dark-colored closed toe shoes or boots (not sneakers) for your portraits. Lighter-colored sneakers often stand out too much in the natural setting.

We want you to be comfortable! Choose fabrics that stretch or move easily whether you are standing or seated. Medium to darker tones contrast nicely to your skin tone in order to accentuate the faces in the portrait.

Probably one of the best sources of classic clothing that never goes out of style is from Ralph Lauren. They even have clothing lines for babies and children! For young children, I love the classic look of Janie & Jack.

Can we bring the dog?

Yes, of course. We do, however, caution you against bringing a younger puppy-age pet that does not easily follow your commands. Given that the portrait sessions are only 45 minutes long, we want to make the most of your time and focus on creating the best portraits possible. As long as your pet is a mature, well-trained dog on a leash, a pet can be a great addition to your family portrait.

How do I register?

To reserve your date & time, we request an advance registration and deposit of $300. Included in your registration is the $100 tax-deductible donation to Essex County Greenbelt and The Friends of the Olmsted Landscape at Moraine Farm (FOLMF). Click here to register.

What do I get with my registration?

You’ll receive a a 45 minute classic outdoor portrait session at a savings! Normally a custom portrait session on location with Bobbie begins with a commitment of $950. You’ll receive the time and talent of one of the area’s best known portrait artists on the north shore.  And in addition, you’ll have access to a stunning natural landscape that no other photographer has access to!

How long will you spend with us?

Each session is 45 minutes. In that time, we will capture a great variety of images, using the natural landscape as our backdrop. We ask that you be on time and arrive no earlier than 10-15 minutes in advance of your session, as we will have a full schedule with families for our special fundraiser event.

When will I get to see my photos from the session?

Approximately one to two weeks following your session, we invite you into the studio in Lynn to review all of your images, assist you in making your selections and to place your order. We recommend that all of the decision makers are present at the time of the ordering appointment. We are happy to accommodate you in the early evening for these appointments.

What should I expect to spend on my portraits?

It’s entirely up to you how much you decide to invest, choosing from our gift & desk portraits, framed wall art pieces, canvas portraits or custom leather albums. Desk sized portraits start at $125. Signature wall art pieces start at $495 and go up to life-size. Most clients invest $900 to $1500 or more on their portrait orders. See our product page.

Can I get the digitals?

While Bobbie specializes in creating beautiful finely framed pieces of artwork for your home, we also understand a client’s occasional desire for portraits in electronic form. Some clients wish to invest in acquiring access to some or all of the full resolution files with their portrait order. We also make a set of low resolution files available to clients for sharing with friends and family. A full set of the low resolution files are available as our gift for any portrait order $750 or more.

What about holiday cards?

For the client who wants us to take the hassle out of holiday cards, we offer custom holiday cards. For the client who loves picking out their own card design, we have a partnership with Minted.com.

I have a certificate from another charity event, can I use that?

This fall foliage event is a fundraiser specifically to benefit the Friends of the Olmsted Landscape at Moraine Farm (FOLMF). As a rule, I am not able to combine promotions together from two different charitable organizations. However, I may be able to find a solution and reserve one or two spots to accommodate you. Please contact us directly for specifics.
