There is something so wonderfully nostalgic and classic about little girls in pretty dresses with florals! This portrait is a perfect moment, illustrating the connection between two sisters. In my classic portrait studio north of Boston, I adore creating this type of portrait, one that touches everyone’s heart.
I have known these two sisters since they were tiny babies. Each of them came to the studio to capture the distinct milestones in the year long baby portrait program. Today each daughter has her own keepsake album from their first year of life. It is a treat to see them now, becoming lovely little girls, and growing into their unique (and honestly very different!) personality traits.
In this portrait session, they have reached the milestones of age 5 and age 7. Adorable ages when they are still filled with innocence and beauty. It’s their big round eyes and quiet expressions that draw you in with a portrait like this.
I look forward to transforming at least one of these portraits into a painted portrait using real oils & acrylics on canvas! When I transform one of my portraits into a painting, it is lovingly created by hand — stroke by stroke — using a combination of digital and real paint brushstrokes on a stretched canvas.
